- Requirements and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (rotating and static equipment), Petroleum Engineering, Oil and Gas Field Development, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience in the design, development, and commissioning of oil and gas facilities.
- At least 10 years of project experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project scheduling and cost estimation.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and studies such as HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, SIL, QRA, etc.
- Knowledge of project phases from concept selection to commissioning.
- Knowledge of core project design documents for technological processes, such as Datasheets, P&ID, PFD, BFD, and others impacting design decisions.
- Knowledge of national norms and international standards ASME/ANSI, API, ASTM.
- In-depth knowledge of static equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers and distillation columns.
- Experience with rotating and packaged equipment for oil & gas, power, or process plant projects.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge and ability to execute design, construction, and commissioning contracts, including EPC, PCC, EPCM, FEED, DD.
- Act as the client-side technical authority for equipment selection during the project stages of Concept Selection, Pre-FEED, FEED, and EPC.”
- Coordinate and work closely with the design institute, reviewing deliverables, providing technical comments, and ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Review, comment on, and approve mechanical datasheets, specifications, calculations, and drawings for static and rotating equipment.
- Ensure mechanical design complies with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements (ASME, API, ISO, GOST, etc.).
- Review and evaluate vendor technical documentation, including bids, datasheets, drawings, and technical queries.
- Participate in technical bid evaluations and provide recommendations for equipment selection.
- Ensure appropriate material selection, with solid understanding of material properties, corrosion mechanisms, and service suitability.
- Interface with process, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and project teams to resolve mechanical-related issues.
- Participate in design reviews, and constructability reviews, providing mechanical input.
- Monitor and support mechanical engineering activities during procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
- Review and respond to technical deviations, concessions, and change requests.
- Ensure consistency and alignment of mechanical design across different project phases and contractors.
- Provide technical support during FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities, as required.
- Support equipment procurement activities by preparing and defending technical solutions and budget justifications, including tender materials and presentations, at internal tender committee meetings.
- Act as Contract Holder for equipment supply contracts, including contract preparation, coordination with internal stakeholders, and oversight through execution and close-out.
- Provide all necessary support to the operations department within your discipline to maintain equipment reliability.
