- Knowledge of risk communication, social and behavior change, community engagement and related models and strategies and their practical application;
- Knowledge of zoonotic and communicable diseases of outbreak or pandemic potential is an asset;
- Proven experience in developing and using multimedia and community engagement approaches to drive behavior change and implement risk communication strategies;
- Ability to synthesize and translate technically complex information into plain language communication products;
- Demonstrated ability to work with communities and to communicate with local-level stakeholders of various backgrounds, build rapport, and motivate behavior change;
- Field experience in developing and implementing social and behavior change communication, advocacy, and projects and programs that have demonstrated impact;
- Strong technical, programming, and reporting skills;
- Proven ability to work as an effective team member;
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in communication, social sciences, public health or related field;
- 6-8 years of experience in implementing risk communication, social and behavior change, community level engagement, mass media and/or health advocacy projects or campaigns focused on zoonotic and communicable diseases of outbreak or pandemic potential
- English, Kazakh and Russian languages fluency required.
- Assist in the delivery of EMCE capacity-building activities, including preparing materials, coordinating logistics, and supporting training sessions for stakeholders.
- Support KAP study activities, such as data collection, entry, cleaning, and preliminary analysis.
- Assist in SBCC campaign implementation, including drafting communication materials, coordinating with partners, and helping track dissemination.
- Support community engagement efforts, helping organize local meetings, focus groups, and ensuring community feedback is collected and documented.
- Help organize inter-agency exercises, including setting up logistics, tracking participant feedback, and documenting lessons learned.
- Monitor social media and local information channels, flagging emerging rumors, misinformation, or trends for senior staff.
- Support monitoring and evaluation, assisting in data collection, reporting, and tracking indicators for EMCE and emergency response activities.
- Assist with stakeholder coordination, including scheduling meetings, preparing briefs, and sharing updates between project teams, partners, and government counterparts.
- Prepare documentation and reports, such as summaries, minutes, and progress notes, under the guidance of senior staff.
- Perform other supportive tasks as assigned to ensure smooth EMCE and emergency response operations.
