Galaxy International School (GIS) is a non-profit private school operating under the umbrella of International Social Foundation BILIM ORDA, which runs a network of private schools in Kazakhstan. We cater for a range of local and international students residing in Almaty and surrounding areas. We are an accredited member of COBIS, a registered centre for Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) as well as Cambridge Assessment English.The curriculum in the Primary and Secondary follows the Cambridge International Programmes including the Cambridge Primary, Secondary 1 & 2, and Advanced Level. The curriculum is also enriched with local subjects such as Kazakh language, History & Geography of Kazakhstan to meet the needs of our local students. As part of external assessment, our students take the Cambridge International assessments like the Cambridge Primary and Secondary Checkpoints, Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International AS/A Levels.We are looking for a passionate and dedicated professional secondary school economics teacher to join us from January 2025. Teachers should ideally have international experience and teach students for whom English is a second or third language. Candidates are expected to have a commitment to creating and managing a caring, supportive, purposeful and stimulating learning environment. 90% of our students are local nationals, for whom English is not the first language. The remaining 10% of students are International and use English as their main language of communication.The successful candidate must have:At least 3 years teaching experience in a school environmentA bachelor degree qualification in economicsExperience with the Cambridge International ProgrammeAn up-to-date International Child Protection Certificate or Police Clearance LetterStrong ability in using technology to support learningBe willing to be fully involved in extra-curricular activitiesBe a reflective practitioner with the ability to think creativelyTeach Economics A-Level across 5 periods per week, each lasting 40 minutes.
Deliver engaging, student-centered lessons aligned with the curriculum and examination board standards.
Integrate real-world applications and case studies into lessons to enrich students' understanding of economic concepts.
Assessment and Feedback:Allocate approximately 3 hours weekly to assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and track progress.
Set and mark formative and summative assessments in line with curriculum requirements.
Maintain up-to-date records of student performance and provide reports as needed.
Classroom Management:Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Monitor and manage student behavior in line with school policies
Communication and Collaboration:Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.Образовательная деятельность.
