Ensure the legality of commercial transactions and advise the company on legal rights and duties.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Consult and handle all corporate legal processes (e.g. intellectual property, mergers & acquisitions, financial/securities offerings, compliance issues, transactions, agreements, lawsuits, patents)
  • Develop company policy and position on legal issues
  • Research, anticipate and guard company against legal risks
  • Guide managers and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
  • Structure, draft and review reports and other legal documents
  • Represent company in legal proceedings (administrative boards, court trials etc.)
  • Draft and administer all contracts
  • Negotiate deals and attend company meetings
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
  • Explaining the law and giving general legal advice
  • Settling disputes and supervising any agreements
  • Researching and gathering evidence
  • Analysing legal documents
  • Supervising legal assistants.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE:The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Firm knowledge of local legislation
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English and Russian. Kazakh is an advantage.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Most tasks are performed independently or in a team environment with the employee acting as a team leader. There is minimal direct supervision.
  • Must possess advanced computational ability.
  • Ability to maintain compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Proven comparable law firm experience is advantage.
  • Proven background on corporate law (contract law, tax law, accounting, securities law, bankruptcy, intellectual property rights, licensing, zoning laws)
  • Excellent negotiation and communications skills
  • Administrative and managerial skills
  • Analytical ability and strong attention to detail
QUALIFICATION STANDARDSEducationBachelor’s Degree in Law is preferred.ExperienceMinimum 5 years of experience required.
