Mid-level Systems AnalystInvestbanq is an AI-powered wealth operating system for family offices, asset managers and banks. We are empowering traditional financial institutions to rapidly transform into AI-driven WealthTech players, enabling them to effectively capitalize on the growing wealth transfer to affluent millennials and other digital natives across emerging Asia and MENA. We are scaling quickly across Asia and MENA and are assembling a high‑calibre engineering team to power our next phase of growth.Why this role mattersAs a system analyst, you'll be the bridge between business needs and technical solutions. You'll play a crucial role in understanding, documenting, and translating complex business requirements into clear specifications for our development teams. Your work will directly impact the efficiency, scalability, and user-friendliness of our cutting-edge financial products. You'll ensure our systems are robust, well-documented, and align with our strategic goals.Tech stack (relevant for understanding system interactions)
  • Databases – PostgreSQL, MongoDB (understanding of principles and query writing)
  • Integration – REST, GraphQL, WebSockets/SSE (understanding of principles)
  • Tools – Jira, Confluence, Figma/Axure (for prototyping), Postman
  • Methodologies – Agile (Scrum, Kanban), BPMN, UML
  • Cloud – AWS (basic understanding)
ResponsibilitiesDesign & build core services
  • develop REST and GraphQL APIs in NestJS (Node 20 + TypeScript)
  • model transactional and market‑data workflows in PostgreSQL / TimescaleDB
Gather and analyze requirements
  • collect, formalize, and prioritize business and functional requirements from various stakeholders
  • conduct interviews, workshops, and document analysis to ensure comprehensive understanding
Design and document solutions
  • develop detailed functional specifications, technical designs, user stories, and use cases
  • create clear process diagrams (BPMN, UML) and data models (ERD)
  • design and describe integration points and data flows between systems
Collaborate and communicate
  • work closely with product owners, developers, QA engineers, and business users throughout the SDLC
  • facilitate communication and ensure a shared understanding of requirements
Support development and testing
  • provide clarifications and support to development teams during implementation
  • participate in testing activities (UAT, functional testing) to ensure solutions meet requirements
Maintain and improve
  • ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible
  • identify opportunities for process improvement and system optimization
RequirementsMust-have
  • 3+ years of experience as a System Analyst in IT projects
  • solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • proven experience in writing comprehensive technical documentation (functional specifications, user stories, use cases)
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • proficiency in creating process diagrams (BPMN) and data models (UML, ERD)
  • experience with requirement management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
  • clear written & verbal English; thrive in distributed teams
  • ability to understand and analyze SQL queries
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Nice-to-have
  • experience in the financial services industry or with fintech products
  • familiarity with API design principles (REST, GraphQL)
  • experience with prototyping tools (Figma, Axure)
  • knowledge of microservices architecture
  • experience with complex data migrations or system integrations
