We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our team for a major sugar factory construction project in Kazakhstan. This is a senior role responsible for leading all contractual and commercial aspects of the project, ensuring compliance with international standards, and supporting strategic decision-making across the project lifecycle.Key Responsibilities:Act as the senior authority on all contractual matters.Develop and implement contract strategies to support project objectives.Lead negotiations with EPC contractors, consultants, and vendors.Draft, review, and manage high-value contracts (EPC, design-build, supply, consultancy).Ensure compliance with international (FIDIC, NEC) and local standards.Manage claims, disputes, and contractual risks.Provide governance, compliance oversight, and maintain full documentation.Lead and mentor a team of contract administrators and commercial professionals.Build strong relationships with project stakeholders, including owners, financiers, and government bodies.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Law, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Engineering (advanced degree or MBA preferred).12–16+ years’ experience in contract management, with at least 7 years in a senior role on large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.Strong expertise in FIDIC, NEC, and EPC contract forms.Proven success managing complex, high-capex projects (experience in agro-industrial or process plant construction is an advantage).Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.Competencies:Project planning & schedulingBudgeting & cost controlRisk managementThis is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in a large-scale industrial project that is shaping the future of the agro-industrial sector in Kazakhstan.If you are a highly skilled contracts professional ready to take on this challenge, we invite you to apply.The Kazakhstan Sugar Project involves setting up a large-scale sugar processing factory, namely the Qazaq Arab Sugar, in the Almaty region of Kazakhstan.The sugar factory is expected to produce white sugar as the primary product, with pulp and molasses as secondary ones.This new sugar factory will aim to cater to the domestic sugar demand of 600k MT, thus enabling the substitution of imports and reducing Kazakhstan’s import bill. In-addition the Project provides the opportunity of exporting surplus production to neighboring CIS countries and other Asian regions.
