- build and maintain scalable test automation suites for API and UI (Playwright or equivalent)
- write end-to-end, integration, and regression tests for critical backend and frontend flows
- develop reusable test components and integrate test execution into GitLab CI/CD
- ensure test coverage across REST/GraphQL APIs, data workflows, and edge cases
- validate backend/frontend components like messaging (SQS, Redis), scheduled jobs, and data processing
- implement load and performance tests using k6 or similar tools
- enforce test coverage thresholds and shift-left practices across development stages
- improve visibility through dashboards and test reports tied into CI pipelines
- manage test data and environments using Docker and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
- work closely with backend, frontend, and product teams to define testable requirements
- participate in code reviews, incident reviews, and QA strategy planning
- 3 + years of experience in QA automation, with a strong focus on backend/API testing
- solid JavaScript/TypeScript skills and experience with automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Jest, REST-assured)
- hands-on experience testing REST and GraphQL APIs
- familiarity with CI/CD (preferably GitLab CI), Docker, and infrastructure management
- solid understanding of QA processes, test design patterns, and debugging techniques
- experience testing event-driven or real-time systems (e.g., SQS, Redis pub/sub)
- exposure to PostgreSQL and time-series data (TimescaleDB)
- load and performance testing with k6, JMeter, or Artillery
- experience in high-compliance environments (fintech, banking, SOC 2, ISO 27001)
- contributions to QA communities, OSS, or tech blogs
- hybrid work environment: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote
