This project, led by FAOKZ, aims to preserve and celebrate this heritage by creating a comprehensive Central Asian cookbook consisting of 50 pages. The cookbook will feature traditional recipes, historical anecdotes, and cultural insights into the region's food practices.The Central Asian Cookbook Project aims to create a visually stunning, easy-to-use cookbook that serves as both a cultural artifact and a practical guide. The design team will play a key role in ensuring the cookbook is engaging, accessible, and reflective of the vibrant heritage of the region. This initiative also highlights the importance of sustainable food systems by focusing on traditional, locally sourced recipes.Task type:Art and DesignTask description:We are looking for talented and creative graphic designers to join our team and contribute to the design and layout of a cookbook that celebrates the rich culinary heritage of Central Asia.The Cookbook consists of approximately 50 pages and all the pages require graphic design; around 15–20 pages will be dedicated to images and about 30 pages to textual content.This is a unique opportunity to showcase your skills while supporting a meaningful cultural initiative.As a graphic designer for the cookbook project, you will:1. Design the cookbook layout: Collaborate with the editorial team to create an attractive and cohesive design.2. Develop visual elements: Create illustrations, infographics, and design motifs inspired by Central Asian culture.3. Incorporate photographs: Optimize recipe and cultural photos provided by the research team for print and digital use.4. Ensure consistency: Maintain consistent typography, colors, and layout throughout the cookbook.5. Collaborate with team members: Work closely with the research and editorial teams to align the design with the cookbook's goals.Volunteers will have access to research resources and guidance from the project team. Collaboration will take place via online tools such as WhatsApp, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams.Requirements:Candidates should have professional experience in graphic design with previous experience in designing document layouts, and must have in-depth knowledge of graphic design applications, as well as good verbal and written communication skills.
A degree in graphic design or related field is considered an asset.Work Hours: 16 - 20 hours per week
