This role is ideal for an ambitious young lawyer who is eager to gain hands-on experience across various areas of law, working directly with senior colleagues and clients on complex projects.You will assist in providing legal support on local and cross-border matters, conduct legal research, draft documents, and support senior lawyers in negotiations and transactions. The role provides excellent opportunities for professional growth and career progression.Main tasksConduct legal research and prepare memoranda on Kazakhstani law, AIFC law, and comparative legal analysis.Draft, review, and proofread contracts, corporate documents, and other legal instruments.Assist in due diligence processes, preparing reports and summaries for clients.Support in structuring transactions, preparing shareholder and commercial agreements.Participate in dispute resolution projects, assisting with case preparation, filings, and procedural documentation.Liaise with state authorities and regulators to collect and analyse information.Provide assistance on client communications, preparing presentations and client updates.Participate in internal knowledge management and training sessions.Work as part of a team, supporting senior lawyers and partners on ongoing matters.Essential skills and experienceLaw degree from a reputable university.1–3 years of experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or relevant internships.Strong knowledge of Kazakhstani law; knowledge of AIFC regulations is an advantage.Excellent drafting and research skills.Proficiency in English and Russian is required; knowledge of Kazakh is an advantage.Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.Attention to detail, willingness to learn, and proactive approach.Career AdvancementAs a Junior Associate, you will:Receive mentorship and training from senior lawyers and partners.Develop expertise in different practice areas: corporate law, M&A, finance, infrastructure, energy, dispute resolution.Participate in client meetings and transactions from early stages.Have a transparent career progression path within the firm.Recent Work ExamplesAdvising on international financing projects in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.Supporting major renewable energy and infrastructure developments.Participating in corporate restructuring and M&A transactions.Preparing legal opinions on regulatory compliance, land use, and energy projects.​​​UNICASE LAW FIRMAbout UnicaseUnicase is a leading Central Asian law firm operating locally and internationally, with a strong presence in Kazakhstan, as well as in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
