- Maximize commercial performance while managing business/project risk
- Commercialization of the sub-business Group service offerings to support business growth
- Developing teams with in-depth commercial and cross-functional expertise to support the assigned business
- Ensure compliance with relevant commercial/contracting policies
- Resolution of disputes/claims and cash collection issues
- Embedding effective commercial governance and assurance across the sub-business Group / Region
- Managing the tender governance process for the sub-business Group / Region
- Manages and provides team members with the general direction in commercial activities during the contract life cycle from input into tenders through contract delivery to contract commercial closeout
- Implementation of commercial strategy for the Business Unit within assigned sub-business group/region and ensures alignment of objectives to the business unit strategy.

- Champion and follow the relevant DOA and commercial / contracting policies
- Pre-award activities, including support to the proposals team in terms of performing a commercial review of tender documents, reviewing commercial proposals prior to submission for internal approval, preparing pricing and commercial qualifications
- All activities within the Tender governance processes across the sub-BG / BG/region
- Compliance with Woods commercial policies, processes, and procedures within sub-BG / BG/region (tender governance, financial instruments, contracting policy, etc.)
- Risk management process, including risk identification, mitigation planning, and administration of risk process in conjunction with operations
- Contractual negotiation strategies for client contracts, JV's, and teaming agreements in conjunction with the bid team and key stakeholders
- Negotiation of Terms and Conditions with clients and suppliers
- Main contract administration across sub-BG / region, including timely provision of commercial deliverables (e.g., bonds, PCG's, evidence of insurance), correspondence management, and management of change to optimize commercial entitlements
- Development, implementation, and maintenance of project commercial handover/plans, including commercial strategy, subcontracting commercial strategy, and profit improvement plans
- Regular project cost analysis/reviews to maximize recoverable costs, minimize disallowable costs, and ensure adequate cost accruals and provisions are in place
- DOA is maintained, communicated, and complied with across the sub-BG / BG/region
- Project cashflow forecasts, expenditure, invoice preparation, and expediting of payments with limited support and supervision, and in accordance with client contract requirements and Wood processes and procedures
- The pursuit of Wood's assertive claims and/or defending claims against Wood, as required, and ensuring appropriate interface with in-house legal is in place when required
- Ensuring the accuracy of invoices and supporting information/data and maintaining project invoice registers
- Developing subcontracting commercial strategy in conjunction with Project Management, supply chain, and other functions, as required
- The compilation of subcontract documents, including main contract flow downs, pricing, and payment prior to execution, subcontract filing/retention of records Regular cost analysis to: i. maximizes recoverable costs, ii. minimize disallowable costs, iii. Identify areas for cost saving and iv. ensure adequate cost accruals and provisions are in place
- The preparation, deliver, and analyze inputs to key contract and internal project reporting requirements and ensure the accuracy of project forecasts
- Commercial representation and participation in monthly BU/ BG /Sub BG project reviews
- The preparation and delivery of main contract and subcontract (if applicable) close-out requirements in full accordance with contract requirements while optimizing Woods commercial recovery
- Governance and implementation of Financial Management Framework within assigned sub-BG / BG/region
- Align project/ BG / sub-BG specific commercial requirements with WOOD commercial processes and procedures and communicate to relevant personnel
- Resource competent commercial personnel to assigned sub-BG / BG/region
- Manages and supervises personnel development and training of the designated commercial team
- Coordination of contract reviews and the development of qualifications/redlines in conjunction with the Contracts function to ensure the balance of risk is appropriate for the associated services and remuneration model
- The selection of the appropriate JV structures/arrangements, negotiations establishment, and administration, including applying appropriate corporate governance and oversight to JV and or Partnerships
- Degree required in one of Law, Quantity Surveying, or a Business Degree
- Master's degree and/or professional qualification (preferred)
- 12+ years' experience in a similar role with 10+ years of leadership/management experience
- Experience in managing a global team
- Awareness of all relevant corporate and project procedures.
- Comprehensive understanding of risks inherent in Engineering & Construction contracts
- Experience in dispute resolution (including arbitration, litigation, and mediation)
- Experience in the establishment of joint ventures
- Utmost integrity
