The Senior Manager (Health & Safety Officer) is responsible for monitoring workplace health and safety, assessing risks, and designing strategies to reduce potential hazards. This role ensures compliance with national regulations and internal policies, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and contributes to the overall safety, security, and operational efficiency of the organization.Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with occupational, fire, and electrical safety regulations in accordance with national legislation and internal policies.
  • Support management in implementing safety measures and participate in production meetings to address workplace safety issues.
  • Contribute to business goals by promoting quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in budgeting processes and provide assessments related to occupational health and safety.
  • Develop and update safety documentation, including procedures, instructions, and internal orders.
  • Conduct staff training and awareness sessions on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and new safety initiatives.
  • Perform regular HSE audits and inspections, prepare reports, and oversee corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with property lessors and security services to ensure timely resolution of safety-related issues.
  • Manage physical security operations and access control systems, including card issuance and reporting.
  • Monitor and maintain fire alarm systems and firefighting equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Conduct safety inductions for new employees, interns, and visitors.
  • Prepare official correspondence on safety matters and ensure confidentiality and compliance in documentation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or a related technical field (Master’s preferred).
  • NEBOSH/IOSH certifications or equivalent training are preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in health and safety or related fields.
  • Fluent in Kazakh, Russian, and English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
  • Strong leadership, team coordination, and stakeholder relationship-building abilities
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
  • High level of integrity, responsibility, and professionalism
  • Competence in developing and implementing policies and procedures under guidance
