Job DescriptionWho will you be working with?You will collaborate with global engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders focused on locomotive traction and auxiliary control systems. This team combines expertise in electrical engineering, control systems, and system integration to deliver reliable and cost-effective solutions for rail applications.How will you make a difference?As a Train Control Engineer you will design and develop locomotive traction and auxiliary control systems that meet customer requirements and reliability expectations. You will define system-level requirements, prepare validation plans, and perform system testing. Your role will involve leading conceptual designs, conducting trade-off analyses, and ensuring robust designs that meet cost and performance targets.What do we want to know about you?
  • Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Control Systems Engineering.
  • 4-8 years of engineering experience in a relevant field.
  • Hands-on experience with control algorithm design and development.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Process-focused with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Desired Characteristics:
  • 5+ years of experience as a control engineer.
  • Experience in electrical and control systems, preferably in locomotives.
  • Working knowledge of locomotive control systems.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis or Six Sigma Greenbelt certification.
  • Experience with signal processing and real-time embedded control systems.
  • Knowledge of requirements management tools.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
What will your typical day look like?
  • Design and develop locomotive control systems.
  • Lead conceptual design efforts and trade-off analyses.
  • Define and document system requirements and interfaces.
  • Develop validation plans and perform system-level testing.
  • Conduct locomotive testing to validate control systems.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and status reports to management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to meet project objectives.
