- Under the supervision of the line manager, contribute to the implementation of ICRC Protection activities in Kazakhstan in accordance with established guidelines and instructions, applying strong knowledge of the national context and relevant legal frameworks, and contribute to the development of the Delegation’s Protection and data management approach.
- Serve as a focal point for ICRC Protection activities, with a particular focus on humanitarian services related to the Protection of Family Links (PFL) offered to people affected by conflict in the region and abroad and linked other humanitarian situations, in line with defined objectives.
- Receive, process, and ensure appropriate follow-up of requests from beneficiaries in compliance with ICRC standards and procedures, collect tracing cases from enquirers as required.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and confidential follow-up of individual cases in the best interests of enquirers and beneficiaries, including referrals to relevant organizations when appropriate.
- With guidance from the Data Officer at the ICRC Regional Delegation in Tashkent, assume data management responsibilities as the focal point for data management, independently enter and process identity- and event-related data linked to Protection activities, and ensure records are accurate and up to date.
- When required, support the Data Officer in Tashkent in preparing working lists and relevant information (e.g. individual case follow-ups, Red Cross Messages, replies, and analysis).
- Monitor and analyze developments in the general and humanitarian context, including the structure and functioning of relevant state institutions, in order to contribute to the orientation and effective implementation of the delegation’s Protection activities.
- Support colleagues in the organization of regional and national meetings, conferences, and events, represents the ICRC within the scope of assigned expertise and ensure compliance with administrative and logistical procedures.
- Draft meeting minutes, institutional reports, briefing notes, and other required documentation, manage correspondence accurately and maintain effective filing and archiving systems to ensure follow-up and institutional memory.
- Provide translation and/or interpretation services between Kazakh, Russian, and English as required.
- Manage assigned budgets and monitor their implementation in accordance with ICRC financial procedures.
- Act as focal point and provide support for ICT related matters for the Astana ICRC office
- Diploma or degree in Political Science, Social Sciences, Humanities, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of work experience (preferably in a similar field of activity), experience in humanitarian sector an asset.
- Computer proficiency.
- Excellent written and oral English, Kazakh, and Russian.
