The representative office of an international logistics company is relaunching its small trucking business (6 heavy trucks) in Kazakhstan and is looking for a hands-on Managing Director (Fleet Operations) to lead operations and commercial growth.We are looking for a hands-on professional to take full responsibility for launching and managing this business locally. English proficiency at an Advanced level is required, as the direct supervisor is a foreign manager and daily communication will be conducted in English.Operations within Kazakhstan and across Central Asia (Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan) – own fleet model (not a forwarding). This role is ideal for a transport professional who wants to step into a leadership position and build operations from the ground up.Please include a short cover letter describing your practical experience in managing trucking operations.Key responsibilities: Fleet Operations
  • Launch and manage 6 trucks
  • Hire and supervise drivers
  • Ensure utilization, discipline, and cost control
  • Build strong relationships with drivers
  • Manage daily operations
Commercial Development
  • Find and secure cargo
  • Negotiate rates and contracts
  • Manage pricing
  • Ensure profitable truck utilization
Leadership
  • Full Managing Director authority (including signing power)
  • Build a small team (drivers + assistant)
  • Represent the company in negotiations
Administrative and technical support will be handled by partner companies — allowing you to focus on operations and growth. Requirements:
  • Practical experience in asset-based fleet operations (not only forwarding) - trucking, fleet management, road transport operations, and technical understanding of the trucks.
  • Strong understanding of how transport businesses run in Kazakhstan and the region.
  • Experience managing drivers and organizing routes.
  • Commercial mindset and ability to attract customers.
  • Willingness to work in a small, entrepreneurial environment with high personal responsibility.
  • Entrepreneurial and operationally driven, ready to build and relaunch from near-zero.
  • English – Advanced level.
